The Consortium of sustainability is a product of companies like Best Buy, Dell Computers, HP, Intel Corp. Toshiba and Walmart, in collaboration with ASU and the University of Arkansas on how to identify green electronics and systems standardized production and recognition of such products.
Electronics manufacturers have long sought ways to bring green products to consumers, but many ingredients they use can be dangerous, especially in recycling. One of the objectives of the consortium is to consider the lifecycle of products from manufacture to disposal and see where improvements can be made.
